ABOUT US

North Shore Middle School Library is the heart of learning at our junior high school serving 1400 seventh and eighth graders.   Our collection contains over 14,000 items to include 55% Fiction, 44% Non-Fiction and 1% Electronic Books.  We have many databases to assist with research and information seeking.  The library is open before school and during lunches for free library time, where they can read, play games, work on homework, or learn how to code.  Teachers can schedule times to come to the library for co-taught classes with the librarian or to check-in and out books.  The librarian collaborates with teachers to design TEKS Based lessons, or special information processing and research lessons, as desired.  We genrefied our library last year, which resulted in a 35% increase in circulation.
